14 - Temperance
Made up of murky star stuff, the angelic marker of Temperance absorbs what we categorize as reality and makes it magical again. It is alchemical “flow state,” dictated by something far more expansive than us. To either side of the energy is the harmony of Science and Impossibility. Matter is exchanged, but not in a way that is familiar. This is higher echelons, upper chakras. Nothing is subtracted, only magically gained.
In Temperance we observe the shape of the Horsehead Nebula and consider the scientific wonder that planet Earth is an egg, symbol of Life, not a sphere. We marvel at the miracle of a soft bodied caterpillar’s dissolution to reformulate as a butterfly. Our art manifests with little effort. A mushroom cap emerges from mycelium miles long underground. The person heavy on our mind calls us on the phone. We stand still long enough for something wild to approach us.
The trick to Temperance is to simply trust in its inherent existence. Reason is limiting, and to know all the answers would be dull. Lean into the mysteries and revel in the creation of fractal galaxies without end.
