18 - Moon

Major Minor Court

To enter the realm of Moon is to be fully enveloped by darkness, wildness. It is the labyrinthine chambers within all of us that are uncontrollable, instinctual, mysterious – with doors to chambers we keep largely shut in our solar lives. Entering this void can bring up confusion, even panic, as we thrash in the opaque, ageless, primordial pool of our inner world.

Though this may be a place without direct light, it is also a place without acute pain. Moon silently asks us to float calmy on the inky waves of the unconscious as the subconscious powerfully surges underneath, carrying us forward through the portal into the strangeness of the mind.

Two small orbs levitate by Moon to represent the duality that dwells within us. The golden orb of Eros - an animation of our earthy experience, representation of the material world, presence of being, what we see in broad daylight.  The oxidized iron orb is the murky smudge of starstuff; a reminder that we are all made of something unexplainable related to the feral sweep of the cosmos, ever shifting and only clearly seen in the liminality of dreams.

We are ready for the shadowy journey of Moon because we have long prepared for it. We know that if we quell our fear of the dark and wait, our pupils will dilate to allow for the light that abides here to enter. For Moon light is our inner light, a reflection of our Highest Self. And there is always light, even in the darkest of times.
